How can I move Microsoft 365 content from one tenant to another?

With ShareGate, there are two ways to move content between Microsoft 365 tenants. For larger migrations and mergers and acquisitions, the ShareGate migration tool helps you migrate from file shares, SharePoint on premises, SharePoint Online, Office 365, or one of many other supported sources.

For smaller moves to support ongoing content management, we have Cloud copy. This feature gives you the flexibility to move Teams content whenever, wherever, with the convenience of web access.

How can I automate policy enforcement?

ShareGate enables you to set custom group sensitivity labels that control each team’s privacy status, external sharing settings, and guest access permissions.

How do I activate and manage licenses for the ShareGate migration tool?

When you activate your subscription in ShareGate’s migration tool, a license key is generated by a machine code to keep track of that activation. In the migration tool, click the Activate my license button in the log-in prompt to enter your license key.

From there, license management is pretty straightforward—you’ll only need to update licenses if your machine or domain name changes.

If you discover one of your licenses has low license usage, of if you see unused licenses in your subscription, you can transfer that license assignment to another user.
