Expanding services to capitalize on new growth

When Adepteq—the 12-person Microsoft consultancy—expanded their business from offering SharePoint migration services to offering a suite of bespoke Microsoft 365 services, they gained a new set of expectations. They had more clients migrating from legacy systems to SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365, and they needed to deliver these migrations with minimal downtime, lower costs, and zero data loss.

One of the most valuable ways Adepteq uses ShareGate is for tenant-to-tenant migrations. Companies need these types of migrations when they have to merge separate Microsoft 365 environments during acquisitions. What used to take weeks and require high professional service fees is now simple and efficient.

“ShareGate is fantastic for orchestrating all those things,” Ian said. “The user interface is very good, and its simplicity means our technical team really enjoys using the product.”

They also use ShareGate to migrate large data sets from SharePoint on-prem to SharePoint Online. The platform enables them to handle even the most complicated workflows and forms with ease.

Since partnering with ShareGate, Adepteq has completed more than 60 migrations, saving clients time and money compared to performing the migration themselves.

“One of the great things about ShareGate is that it’s a constantly evolving product, so there’s always something new coming down the line and there’s always additional functionality to meet the changes within the Microsoft environment,” Ian said.

A good example of that is the recent introduction of tenant-to-tenant mailbox migrations, so you can move your SharePoint, Teams, Exchange, and more from one tenant to another with just one tool. 

Apart from easing clients’ migration burdens, ShareGate enables Adepteq to provide a deeper level of consultancy. “For clients with large data sets that may lack proper governance, ShareGate highlights potential issues,” Ian said. “This allows our consultants to make informed recommendations about what to do in their new environment before migrating content.”

Adepteq doesn’t just recommend ShareGate to clients; they use it themselves. They’ve used ShareGate to reorganize content and move data from SharePoint Server to the cloud.

More leads, more opportunities, and £135k in annual revenue

Partnering with ShareGate has helped Adepteq grow its business. ShareGate alone brings in £135,000 of annual revenue for Adepteq. Of that, 15% comes from license sales, 15% from migration projects, and 70% comes from renewals, which remain high year after year.

Co-branded marketing also drives new business. “Since creating more ShareGate assets on our website, we’ve seen more small and medium-sized businesses reach out for migrations,” Sahana said.

They can deliver more high-quality services and allocate more time to nurturing long-lasting, consultative client relationships. “At the end of the day, everyone’s happy,” Ian said.

A decade of mutual success

Adepteq’s partnership with ShareGate grows stronger each year. Ian notes the team’s dedication to helping Adepteq with technical and sales assistance. This effort went a long way to strengthening the relationship, even before ShareGate launched a Partner Program. “They take notice of what partners suggest and put those ideas into action. We’re seeing a real shift in ShareGate to focus more on partners, and we’re all starting to see the benefits.”

The Adepteq team continues to recommend ShareGate to other partner organizations and resellers: “If you’re a channel partner out there considering using ShareGate, I would say use their 15-day free trial, use it yourselves internally, and then consider it next time that you are doing a migration task and compare it against the tool that you currently use,” Ian said. 

There are other Microsoft 365 migration and management solutions on the market, but Adepteq stays with ShareGate because they’ve always been happy, the tool just works, and the team is always there to support them if they need it.

“Partnering with ShareGate has been a good decision for Adepteq. After 10 years with them, we’re still here, we’re still selling, and we’re still promoting ShareGate,” Ian said.
