Identity first, then mailboxes, then content. Entra ID users and groups have to exist in the destination before mailboxes can map correctly, and mailboxes have to exist before content permissions resolve against real accounts.

Above 100 TB, contact Microsoft first so they can provision the destination content database. That is a Microsoft requirement, not a ShareGate one.

Throttling gets managed, not bypassed. ShareGate identifies its traffic to Microsoft as an approved ISV, follows Microsoft's retry directives, and keeps retrying throttled requests until they're accepted. A 429 or 503 doesn't end your migration. For large volumes: batch from the pre-migration scan, run concurrent migrations, and schedule outside business hours. Mailboxes cap at roughly 1.5 GB/hour each, a Google and Microsoft API limit, so concurrency is how you go faster.

You see exactly which items failed and why, then re-run. Re-runs are incremental, so only what changed or failed moves again, and they're included in your license at no extra cost. Every run produces a per-item report marking each object success, warning, or error. Migrations can be canceled but not paused or resumed, which is why the incremental re-run matters: you never redo work that already succeeded.
